Executive Mosaic is honored to introduce U.S. Navy Adm. Michael Rogers, commander of the U.S. Cyber Command and director of the National Security Agency, as the newest inductee into the Wash 100 — a group of influential leaders in the government contracting arena.
Rogers, who started his current roles in April 2014, previously served as commander of the U.S. Fleet Cyber Command and director of intelligence for the Joint Chiefs of Staff and U.S. Pacific Command.
Since the appointment to lead NSA and Cybercom, he has worked to boost the acquisition and retention of IT professionals at NSA and led efforts to build up defenses against cyber attacks that target U.S. infrastructure.
Rogers’ team at Cybercom has also been working with the Defense Information Systems Agency to oversee and defend U.S. military networks under a joint operational framework.
“You are more effective in both operating a network and defending a network when you do it with one integrated approach,” he said.
Rogers began his military career as a surface warfare officer before his redesignation to the field of cryptology and eventual work in computer and network security.
He has served in several assignments abroad, including operations in the Persian Gulf, Spain and Haiti.
Executive Mosaic congratulates Adm. Michael Rogers and the Cybercom and NSA teams for their selection to receive this award.
