Dell has committed to become an annual sponsor for the Cloud Standards Customer Council, an advocacy group comprising of cloud computing technology end users.
The computer company will seek to help accelerate cloud adoption and security and advocate for interests of cloud consumers, CSCC’s parent organization Object Management Group said Tuesday.
Dell also chairs the OMG consortium’s Software-Defined Networking Working Group.
“At the heart of Dell’s cloud strategy are customer choice and flexible, standards-based solutions, fundamental elements to advancing and unlocking the potential of cloud,” said Donald Ferguson, software chief technology officer and senior fellow at Dell.
“Dell has joined the CSCC to… help put into action cloud standards that will advance the state of cloud computing for the betterment of industry at large,” he added.
Among the cloud concerns CSCC says it works to tackle are standards, security and interoperability issues that arise during migration to the cloud.
