Robert Lightfoot, Acting NASA Administrator, Inducted Into 2017 Wash100 for Transition & Program Mgmt Leadership

Executive Mosaic is honored to introduce Robert Lightfoot, acting administrator at NASA, as an inductee into the 2017 edition of the Wash100 — Executive Mosaic’s annual selection of influential leaders in the government contracting arena.

President Donald Trump’s team chose Lightfoot to lead NASA in January until a permanent successor to Charles Bolden is appointed.

Lightfoot wrote in a February memo to NASA employees that the space agency continues to execute various programs under a continuing resolution that will fund federal agencies through April.

He also announced that NASA currently is working with presidential appointees to support a smooth transition to new leadership.

Prior to his interim role, Lightfoot held the role of associate administrator.

Lightfoot previously served as director of Marshall Space Flight Center, manager of the Space Shuttle Propulsion Office, assistant associate administrator for the Space Shuttle Program and director of the propulsion test directorate at Stennis Space Center.

He joined NASA in 1989 as a test engineer and program manager at the Marshall Center.

Executive Mosaic congratulates Robert Lightfoot and the NASA team for their selection to receive this award.
