Dave Levy, AWS Federal Government VP, Named to 2018 Wash100 for Leadership in Customer Relations and Cloud Contract Negotiation

Executive Mosaic is honored to introduce Dave Levy, vice president of federal government at Amazon Web Services, as an inductee into the 2018 edition of the Wash100 — Executive Mosaic’s annual selection of influential leaders in the government contracting arena — for demonstrating excellence in forming, maintaining and improving customer relations in the cloud contract-winning process.

Levy joined AWS in May 2017 from Apple Inc., where he served as head of U.S. government sales. His work with AWS partner company Four Points Technology resulted in winning a potential five-year,$495 million contract from the Department of Veterans Affairs in December 2017 to provide a range of cloud service offerings from AWS and Microsoft.

Levy said at the time that AWS will work with Four Points to help the VA meet its cloud technology and services needs.

“We’ve proudly supported the VA in its Cloud journey to date, helping the agency create the Vets.gov portal so that veterans can easily accomplish tasks ranging from applying for healthcare benefits to refilling a prescription,” said Levy. “We are thrilled to collaborate with Four Points to continue our work with the VA, providing them with needed cloud technology and services so that the agency can focus on what’s most important: the men and women who have served our country.”

AWS has previously supported the VA’s cloud adoption efforts, Levy noted, including the launch of the Vets.gov portal that is designed to assist veterans with various tasks such as healthcare benefits applications.

Levy co-hosted the “Diversity in Tech” lightning talks during AWS’ five-day re:Invent 2017 conference that kicked off on Nov. 27 in Las Vegas, Nevada, outlining AWS’ efforts to promote diversity in the technology industry during the talks. At the conference, Druva, another cloud service provider and AWS partner company, announced that the company had obtained authorization from the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program to offer its Druva inSync cloud data protection and management platform to U.S. government agencies. In response to FedRAMP certification, Levy stated that Druva’s cloud offering will support agencies’ efforts to secure their data in AWS’ GovCloud isolated cloud region for public sector clients.

“As Amazon Web Services (AWS) expands our capabilities and services in AWS GovCloud (US), Druva’s cloud data protection and management capabilities add a valuable solution that will help agencies better protect their data,” said Levy. “We look forward to serving the needs of our government customers in cooperation with Druva.”

Executive Mosaic congratulates Dave Levy and the AWS team for their selection to receive this award.
