Executive Mosaic is honored to announce Ramzi Musallam, CEO and managing partner of Veritas Capital, as an inductee into the 2018 edition of the Wash100 — Executive Mosaic’s annual selection of the most influential voices in the government contracting arena — for his leadership in driving key mergers and acquisitions in the defense space. This marks his third consecutive win.
Musallam was a key player in the Vencore-KeyPoint-DXC Technology announced merger in December. In a statement, he said “The combination of USPS’s enterprise IT leadership with Vencore’s deep mission understanding and advanced innovation will provide unmatched differentiation in the market. The new company will have the unparalleled expertise and breadth of capabilities to make it the trusted partner-of-choice supporting U.S. government clients.” The deal is expected to close next month.
Vencore and KeyPoint are owned by Veritas Capital affiliates, with the parent company staying on as an investor. Vencore’s current president and CEO, four-time Wash100 inductee Mac Curtis, has been tapped as CEO of the combined entity. Musallam will sit on the board, but other members will be named at a later date.
Last week, Veritas announced plans to purchase PwC’s U.S. public sector business for an undisclosed sum, saying the division will continue operations without personnel changes. Among its clients, PwC’s public sector includes federal agencies such as the Defense Department, Veterans Affairs and the Department of Homeland Security. “Veritas’ federal network and relationships will enable new business opportunities for us as an independent company,” said Scott McIntyre, president and CEO of PwC’s Public Sector, and a two-time Wash100 winner.
In April 2017, the New York-based private equity firm bought Harris’ IT government services division, which re-branded as Peraton last July. Peraton’s CEO Stu Shea, a two-time Wash100 awardee, commented, “This company serves as a disruptive force to traditional integrators in the national security market … We challenge the status quo, embrace change and solve problems through innovation, agility and creative thinking.” Peraton specializes in the space, intelligence, cyber/SIGINT, homeland security, defense and communications markets.
Musallam’s career in the private equity arena includes leadership roles at Pritzker & Pritzker, Berkshire Partners and working in JP Morgan’s structured finance division. He is a recipient of the 2017 Honored Partners Award, an honor given to those who raised education funds for children around the world.
Executive Mosaic congratulates Ramzi Musallam and the Veritas Capital team for their selection to receive this award.
