Accenture has announced its plan to acquire Orlade Group, a French consulting firm specializing in program management for large-scale industrial projects. The acquisition aims to enhance Accenture’s capabilities in supporting defense and aerospace clients throughout Europe.
The transaction will strengthen the Irish multinational’s ability to help organizations optimize their multibillion-dollar investments in defense systems and other critical infrastructure. About 200 professionals from Orlade, based in Paris and Bordeaux, will join Accenture’s Industry X infrastructure and capital projects practice.
Koen Deryckere, Accenture’s France & Benelux market unit lead, said the deal would “strengthen our position in France and boost our ability to help clients reinvent how they plan and execute large-scale projects in the energy, utilities, rail, aerospace and defense sectors.” He added that the transaction will expand Accenture’s advisory-to-execution capabilities using advanced technologies such as generative artificial intelligence.
Flavien Parrel, head of Accenture Industry X for France and Benelux, noted that Orlade’s expertise complements Accenture’s leadership in digital transformation. “Generative AI offers immediate productivity gains to our capital projects clients in areas such as data compilation, analysis and the production of technical deliverables,” he said.

The announcement comes as organizations face challenges in delivering major projects on time and within budget. Accenture research indicates that only 6 percent of projects finish on schedule, while two-thirds often incur an average of 29 percent in additional labor costs and penalties due to supply chain issues, workforce shortages, cybersecurity risks and heightened stakeholder scrutiny.
Accenture has been expanding its infrastructure and digital services globally. Recently, the company announced plans to acquire CyberCX in the Asia-Pacific region for cybersecurity and critical infrastructure protection. Additionally, Accenture intends to acquire SIPAL’s Integrated Product Support unit in Italy to strengthen aerospace and defense engineering and Japan’s Yumemi to extend the reach of its Accenture Song digital design arm.
The terms of the Orlade transaction have not been disclosed. The deal is subject to customary closing conditions.
