Rheinmetall has received a contract to supply Germany with highly mobile, protected medical facilities under an initial order valued at more than $349 million. The award, finalized in September and placed with Rheinmetall Project Solutions GmbH, includes options for additional systems through 2040.
Deliveries are expected in 2029 and will cover NATO Role 2B standards-compliant facilities. Each system will comprise 11 vehicles and multifunctional containers for frontline medical treatment.
“This will enable us to provide our soldiers on the ground with the best possible medical care,” said Deniz Akitürk, managing director of Rheinmetall Project Solutions.
The facilities will be mounted on Rheinmetall MAN Military Vehicles’ HX trucks, enabling on-site deployment in operational areas. The HX series offers high axle loads and off-road capability to support medical, logistics and tactical missions.
German forces plan to deploy the systems in Lithuania and other locations as part of NATO force commitments. Earlier this year, the Bundestag approved expanded operations in Lithuania, including new medical and logistics units to begin in 2025.
The Potomac Officers Club’s 2025 Healthcare Summit on Dec. 4 will bring together government and industry leaders to discuss how mobile medical technologies are reshaping frontline care. Join the conversation and reserve your seat today.
