Elbit Systems has received a $750 million contract to provide Precise and Universal Launching System, or PULS, to the Hellenic Armed Forces under a government-to-government agreement between Israel and Greece.
What Does the PULS Contract Cover?
The global defense technology company said Monday the four-year agreement includes delivery of PULS launchers along with a package of munitions such as training rockets, precision-guided rockets and loitering munitions. The contract also provides for a follow-on support period lasting 10 years. It follows an earlier announcement that the Hellenic Parliament and the Government Council for National Security, or KYSEA, have approved a budget for the acquisition of the PULS rocket artillery system.
What Is PULS?
The PULS artillery rocket system, developed by Elbit Systems, is designed to launch unguided rockets and precision-guided munitions, as well as missiles across varying ranges. Its launcher can be integrated into wheeled and tracked platforms.
What Is the Role of Greece in the Program?
As part of the agreement, Elbit Systems will work with Greek industry partners to produce elements of the system. The collaboration is expected to include technology transfer and knowledge sharing aligned with national policy.
“Greece joins additional NATO countries that have selected the PULS system, underscoring its growing reputation as a highly effective and versatile solution for modern artillery requirements in Europe and beyond, and we are honored by the continued confidence shown in our advanced systems,” said Bezhalel Machlis, president and CEO of Elbit Systems.
Recent Israeli Defense Awards to Elbit Systems
The PULS deal follows a string of Israeli defense contracts for Elbit Systems, including a $48 million agreement in March for 155mm artillery shells. In February, the firm secured a contract to supply helmet display and tracking systems for the Israeli Air Force’s UH-60 Black Hawk fleet and over $100 million in deals to develop advanced digitization capabilities for the Israel Defense Forces.
