Lockheed Martin Australia has appointed Phil Gordon as its new international strategy and business development director for Rotary and Mission Systems in Australia and New Zealand. Gordon, a retired Royal Australian Air Force officer, succeeds Kendell Kuczma, who is now promoted to program director and general manager for the same portfolio.
According to Lockheed, Gordon will lead strategy and business development across various mission domains such as integrated air and missile defense, command and control systems, cyber, sensors, electronic warfare and helicopter sustainment.
Lockheed Martin Australia and New Zealand CEO Warren McDonald welcomed Gordon’s appointment, calling the executive “highly progressive and effective.” “I look forward to working with Phil to grow our sovereign Rotary and Missions Systems capability across Australia in support of the Australian Defence Force’s mission,” he said.
Gordon’s 36 years of military service included holding several senior leadership positions in the ADF. He most recently served as RAAF director general of integrated air and missile defense. He was also commander of Air Task Group 630 during Operation Inherent Resolve, commander of the Air Warfare Centre, and director general for air defense and space.
According to his LinkedIn profile, Gordon was the general manager of Systems Planning and Analysis Australia before joining Lockheed. In that role, he helped expand the firm’s defense footprint and analytical capabilities nationwide.
“I am proud to be joining Lockheed Martin, where I can continue to serve national security with passion and integrity,” Gordon said. “I have seen first-hand the remarkable capability that Lockheed Martin delivers and I am excited to help bring that to the warfighters.”s
