KBR Partners With BMT to Sustain Royal Australian Navy Platforms

Nicolas Maan on KBR Australian Navy contract win

KBR has signed a strategic agreement with BMT to provide sustainment services for Royal Australian Navy platforms.

According to KBR, the deal will benefit from its extensive program management, systems integration, and engineering expertise and BMT’s specialist naval engineering, asset management, and technical assurance experience. The company said combining these resources will ensure the RAN delivers “dependable, cost-effective and future-ready sustainment solutions for maritime platforms.”

With over six decades of supporting the Australian government, KBR continues to work to deliver the requirements of several maritime programs in the country, including Capability Life Cycle Management for the Amphibious Combat and Sealift fleet and technical design and infrastructure at HMAS Stirling and the Osborne Naval Shipyard.

“KBR has a longstanding history partnering with the Australian government and Australian Defence Force on large-scale defense and national security programs,” said Nicolas Maan, vice president of KBR’s Australia Defence and Security Solutions.

“We are thrilled to be joining forces with BMT to optimize maritime sustainment outcomes. BMT’s deep platform knowledge complements KBR’s experience as a capability partner for the Royal Australian Navy.”

The partnership comes after KBR Mission Technology Solutions President Byron Bright highlighted in March the importance of Canberra prioritizing investments in defense and security technology innovation to ensure that the ADF gains a more assertive posture.
