Salesforce Launches New AI Platform to Boost UK Government Efficiency

Salesforce has launched Agentforce for Public Sector, a new artificial intelligence platform designed to help the U.K. government improve responsiveness, efficiency and productivity. Announced on Tuesday, the platform enables agencies to deploy a “digital workforce of intelligent AI agents” capable of autonomously handling both routine and complex tasks within designated guidelines.

“The future of government is intelligent, efficient, proactive and deeply connected to the needs of its constituents,” Nasi Jazayeri, executive vice president and general manager of public sector at Salesforce, said in a statement. “Agentforce for Public Sector makes this future possible by integrating trusted, secure AI into the fabric of government operations.”

Intelligent AI Agents

Agentforce for Public Sector allows government teams to rapidly create and deploy AI agents using predefined templates or custom instructions. It includes prebuilt tools tailored to public-sector needs, such as compliance management to flag violations and streamline administrative tasks, complaint management to summarize citizen reports and identify trends, and recruitment management to automate hiring processes. Starting in October, the platform will also offer support for benefits applications, job recommendations for job seekers and guided complaint filing.

The platform is built on Salesforce’s Public Sector Solutions and uses the company’s Atlas Reasoning Engine and Data Cloud to process and analyze complex data from multiple sources. It also incorporates Salesforce’s Trust Layer to ensure data privacy and security through features like dynamic grounding, zero data retention and toxicity detection.

Agentforce for the Public Sector is securely hosted on AWS to comply with regulatory and residency requirements, and it is now available to government agencies via the AWS Marketplace.

Expanding UK AI Presence

The launch of Agentforce is part of Salesforce’s broader strategy to expand its AI offerings and investment in the U.K. Last year, the company opened its first dedicated AI Centre in London, marking the beginning of a five-year, $4 billion investment plan aimed at accelerating AI adoption and growth in Britain.

At the time, Zahra Bahrololoumi, CEO of Salesforce UK and Ireland, emphasized London’s strategic importance. “AI has the potential to drive major growth for U.K. businesses, with the U.K. AI market predicted to reach over $1 trillion by 2035,” she said. “To realize this opportunity, industry-leading experts must work together to develop innovative solutions and overcome obstacles.”
