Splunk, a Cisco business, has announced the integration of its Splunk Enterprise Security with the Australian Signals Directorate’s Cyber Threat Intelligence Sharing platform. This collaboration aims to streamline the sharing and reception of cyber intelligence within the ASD CTIS community.

Marc Caltabiano, Splunk’s group vice president for Australia and New Zealand, emphasized the need for Australian organizations to be well-prepared to counter evolving cyber threats. “This integration with ASD’s platform equips our customers with the intelligence to protect essential services and respond decisively as attacks grow in speed and sophistication,” he said.

The two-way sharing platform allows seamless information exchange on cyberattacks between government entities and their partners. By integrating the Splunk plug-in, public sector users can enhance their compliance with national regulations while improving detection and speeding up incident response.

For private sector organizations, particularly those involved in critical infrastructure, this plug-in enhances their ability to participate in national threat sharing, allowing them to react more swiftly to emerging issues.

According to Splunk, its Enterprise Security platform is designed to centralize and analyze security data across on-premises and cloud environments. The company says the system provides “comprehensive visibility” by ingesting, normalizing and analyzing information from multiple sources at scale, and incorporates AI features to assist with threat detection and response.

“Observability gives agencies the visibility and insight they need to protect critical assets and ensure uninterrupted services that millions of Australians depend on every day,” said Sarah Sloan, senior director for government strategy in the Asia Pacific at Splunk. “Splunk is committed to supporting the government with secure, scalable platforms that empower agencies to act with speed and confidence while sustaining citizen trust.”

In addition to supporting ASD’s mission, Splunk is strengthening its ability to help protect Australian national security. In January, the Cisco unit said its Cloud SOAR program completed the Australian Cyber Security Centre’s Infosec Registered Assessors Program assessment, making it easier for government offices to adopt the solution.
