The Department of State has approved a possible $151.8 million foreign military sale of munitions and related support services to the Government of Israel.

According to a congressional notification issued by the State Department’s Bureau of Political-Military Affairs Friday, Israel has requested to purchase 12,000 BLU-110A/B general-purpose 1,000-pound bomb bodies along with U.S. government and contractor engineering, logistics and technical support services.

Repkon USA will serve as the principal contractor for the potential sale.

The State Department determined that an emergency exists requiring the immediate sale, allowing the administration to waive congressional review requirements under Section 36(b) of the Arms Export Control Act. According to the notification, part of the bomb body requirement will be transferred from existing stock.

What Does Israel’s Proposed FMS Include?

The proposed package centers on the BLU-110A/B bomb bodies, which are widely used in air-delivered strike missions. The request also includes program support services to assist with integration, logistics and operational readiness.

How Does the Sale Support Israel’s Military Capabilities?

The State Department said the sale will help Israel improve its ability to address current and future threats while strengthening homeland defense and deterrence against regional adversaries.

The transaction also follows other recent munition-related efforts supporting Israel’s defense modernization. In 2025, Elbit Systems secured two contracts worth $260 million to provide advanced airborne munitions to the Israeli Ministry of Defense.

Separately, the United States previously approved a $510 million FMS of Boeing Joint Direct Attack Munition guidance kits, which convert unguided bombs into precision-guided weapons used by the Israeli military.
