Bell Textron has established a subsidiary in Ukraine that will serve as its central hub for operations in the country.

What Is the Purpose of Bell Textron Ukraine?

The Washington, D.C.-based Textron company said Friday the new Bell Textron Ukraine subsidiary will coordinate helicopter assembly, repair and maintenance activities in the country. The company also plans to establish a dedicated office in Ukraine to support long-term industrial cooperation initiatives.

How Was the Subsidiary Established?

Textron and Ukraine’s Ministry of Economy, Ecology and Agriculture signed letters of intent in October to explore specific areas of cooperation, which led to the formation of the subsidiary.

“This is a meaningful step toward building a practical, mutually beneficial cooperation with the Ukraine defense and industrial base,” said Jeffrey Schloesser, senior vice president of strategic pursuits at Bell. “Bell is committed to establishing a presence in Ukraine to promote collaboration and long-term growth.”

Recent Textron Awards

The development follows recent awards secured by Textron subsidiaries. In January, Textron Systems received a $163.4 million contract through the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative to deliver Mobile Strike Force Vehicles and COMMANDO Select vehicles, intended to strengthen Ukraine’s military capabilities. Textron Aviation Defense received a contract in December to provide its Beechcraft T-6JP Texan II integrated training system to Japan.
