IBM has appointed Alexandre Abi Khaled as the chief technology officer for the defense and public sector in Northern, Central and Eastern Europe, the executive shared in a social media post over the weekend.
According to his LinkedIn profile, Abi Khaled is transitioning to the new role after serving as the company’s CTO and pre-sales leader in the Netherlands. In that capacity, he was responsible for presenting and demonstrating the capabilities and advantages of IBM’s data and artificial intelligence products and services. Previously, he was a technical leader for IBM’s Cloud and Data Platform, Automation and DevOps businesses across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
He joined IBM in 2002 as EMEA technical leader rational support. He was promoted to brand architect in technical sales and solutions in 2009 and advanced to the role of European lead architect for DevOps and hybrid cloud software in 2014.
Before his tenure at IBM, he worked as a systems engineer at Alcatel-Lucent from 2000 to 2002.
Abi Khaled holds an electrical engineering degree from Philadelphia University and a master’s degree in computer engineering from Delft University of Technology.
