Ultra I&C Showcases Tactical Communication Line to European NATO Allies

Ultra I&C Jon Rucker Orion Archer tactical communication

Ultra I&C has showcased the capabilities of its Orion radio and Archer troposcatter systems to European NATO member states. Held in Poland, the demonstration highlighted the importance of foundational data transport layer capabilities in the modern battlefield, where delivery of essential information is vital to success.

The X650 is one of the two Orion solutions on display. According to the Ultra I&C website, the device is a two-channel MIMO tactical radio that features low SWAP and high throughput, making it ideal for next-generation, digitized command post mobility and survivability. It also comes with a modular, multi-band, multi-waveform software-defined architecture to meet current and future tactical communications requirements.

Meanwhile, the company describes Archer as a cost-effective solution capable of delivering high-capacity, long-range communication without the need for satellites or ground-based infrastructure. It is a force multiplier capable of establishing and maintaining communication links beyond 200 kilometers with a single antenna.

“Our combined line-of-sight and beyond line-of-sight capabilities provide warfighters with high-capacity, long-range, resilient communications that securely deliver critical data in the toughest operational environments,” said Ultra I&C CEO Jon Rucker, a two-time Wash100 winner and 4×24 member.
