Taiwan’s Ministry of National Defense has received the first batch of Altius loitering munitions it ordered from Anduril Industries. In June 2024, the U.S. Department of State approved the foreign military sales request for 291 Altius 600M-V Systems for $300 million.
Anduril founder Palmer Luckey visited the island to accompany the delivery and attend the opening of the company’s office in Taiwan to support its local and regional operations.

Luckey was also a keynote speaker at the Taiwan AI Academy at National Taiwan University, where he shared Anduril’s challenges in producing the munitions to elevate the self-governing island’s defense capabilities.
Deterrence Technology
“Anduril is committed to supporting Taiwan and our allies across the Indo-Pacific with the technology they need to deter aggression and preserve stability,” the executive said.
He also assured that Anduril intends to have a long-term local presence in Taiwan, saying, “This office will allow us to work more closely with local partners and tap into Taiwan’s extraordinary engineering talent and industrial base.”
“The stakes here are high, and we want to be part of the solution,” Luckey said.
AI-Enabled Systems
Anduril is also expanding its presence and partnerships in Taiwan through a memorandum of understanding with the National Chung-Shan Institute of Science and Technology, which is focused on artificial intelligence-enabled command and control and unmanned systems.
The partnership has already integrated Anduril’s Lattice AI platform with NCSIST systems in two demonstration platforms for a live-fire exercise later this month. Other joint projects under the partnership will also be showcased at the Taiwan Aerospace and Defense Technology Exhibition in September.
