Babcock has introduced Nomad, an artificial intelligence-enabled tool designed to deliver real-time intelligence to users operating in challenging locations.
Unveiled at DSEI 2025, Nomad aims to address the shortage of linguists and analysts who can support communications in denied environments. The tool can assist with complex missions by cleaning, transcribing, translating, and analyzing both voice and text data.
Neal Misell, chief executive of Babcock Mission Systems, said that the solution will “break boundaries” for the nation’s defense industry. He emphasized that Nomad will empower decision-makers, particularly in time-sensitive missions where every second counts and resources are at stake.
Misell also highlighted the positive impact on the local economy, noting, “Creating Nomad has meant investing in and building a rapid AI development team and deepening our footprint in AI, along with the specialist skills we need in that space.”
The introduction of Nomad follows Babcock’s participation in the NVIDIA-led U.K. Sovereign AI Industry Forum, which aims to advance Britain’s sovereign AI infrastructure and contribute to the nation’s economic security.
In addition to its involvement with NVIDIA, Babcock is also working on initiatives to ensure the British Army’s combat readiness. This collaboration was renewed in March to support the ongoing delivery of tools and services that benefit British warfighters.

The Potomac Officers Club’s 2026 Artificial Intelligence Summit will feature top voices from government and industry to discuss strategies, future plans and exciting use cases for how AI, machine learning and automation are transforming our world today. Secure your slot now.
