NVIDIA is working with partners to build artificial intelligence factories across the United Kingdom. The infrastructures, expected to be operational by the end of 2026, represent a total of $15 billion in investment in the U.K. economy.
The effort supports Stargate UK, a joint initiative with OpenAI and Nscale that aims to strengthen the nation’s sovereign AI capabilities and drive sustainable economic growth. OpenAI will use the AI factories to serve its models, including GPT-5.
To power the facilities, NVIDIA plans to deploy up to 120,000 Blackwell GPUs, including Blackwell Ultra models, across Nscale-operated data centers. Meanwhile, Nscale is also scaling 300,000 Grace Blackwell GPUs worldwide, with deployments in the United States, Portugal and Norway, and 60,000 in the U.K.
“The United Kingdom is building the infrastructure for the AI industrial revolution, advancing science, transforming industries and creating new economic opportunities,” said Jensen Huang, founder and CEO of NVIDIA. “We are at the big bang of intelligence, and the United Kingdom’s Goldilocks ecosystem of world-class expertise, outstanding universities and vibrant industries is uniquely positioned to thrive in the age of AI.”
