Thales is strengthening its support for Denmark’s air defense modernization through a strategic partnership with Systematic to develop advanced, interoperable capabilities for the Danish Armed Forces.
What Danish defense requirements will the partnership address?
Thales said the partnership will support key requirements identified by Denmark, including air command and control and surface-based air missile defense.
Bringing together Systematic’s command-and-control software expertise and Thales’ combat-proven air defense systems, including the SAMP/T NG platform, the partnership will enable stronger integration and coordination among Denmark’s air defense capabilities.
The companies will support the Danish Acquisition and Logistics Organisation, or DALO, in developing an integrated air defense capability. The approach is intended to improve coordination across systems while strengthening Denmark’s ability to operate alongside NATO allies.

Beyond operational capabilities, the partnership is expected to strengthen Denmark’s local industrial capacity, support long-term national value creation and create opportunities for future exports, while underscoring the growing role of European defense-industry cooperation in delivering sovereign capabilities.

How Does the Partnership Fit Into Denmark’s Broader Air Defense Strategy?
The Systematic partnership builds on Denmark’s broader effort to establish a layered and interoperable ground-based air defense capability. In September 2025, Denmark selected the SAMP/T system as part of a record $9.1 billion investment in ground-based air defense, with plans to acquire eight medium- and long-range systems.
In March 2026, the company presented SkyDefender as an integrated architecture combining capabilities such as SAMP/T NG, Ground Fire radar and ForceShield to address threats across different ranges.
Lately, Thales and Destinus announced a partnership combining Destinus’ interceptor and long-range effector portfolio with Thales’ air defense systems for European and international armed forces.
