Protora and DEMCO Holdings have established a joint venture with General Riyadh Albalawi to bring radar and sensing capabilities to Saudi Arabia.
The announcement follows C Speed’s rebranding as Protora and the launch of three new radar product lines—RushLight, DomeWatcher and WingWatcher—powered by its Lightwave technology and designed for mission needs including border security, base defense, infrastructure protection and wide-area surveillance.
What Does the Protora-DEMCO Joint Venture Bring to Saudi Arabia?
The new company, C Speed Middle East LLC, is designed as a long-term, in-Kingdom business that will install, sustain and optimize radar systems in support of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 objectives.
The venture also aims to develop local technical capabilities by creating jobs for Saudi engineers and technicians involved in radar operations, support and sustainment.
The announcement follows a strategic partnership between Protora and DEMCO signed in February 2026 to support defense and security initiatives in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
What Are Executives Saying About the Joint Venture?
Protora CEO Dave Abel said the joint venture represents a broader model for the company’s international growth.
“DEMCO knows the Kingdom. We know radar. Together, we build and sustain this technology in-country, getting it rapidly in the hands of the people who need it most,” Abel, a previous Wash100 awardee, stated.
“Combined with Protora’s rapid production, this allows us to reduce the time and cost of fielding advanced systems and get critical capability to the warfighter faster,” General Riyadh Albalawi, CEO of Protora MENA, said.
