General Atomics Aeronautical Systems Inc. is set to invest in Emergent Swarm Solutions and Saluqi Motors, two companies that pitched their innovative concepts at the inaugural Blue Magic Netherlands event. GA-ASI designed the event to foster innovation in the Netherlands’ industrial ecosystem.
Emergent, .a robotics engineering firm focused on producing software for autonomous flight and intelligent, decentralized swarming capabilities for drones, will work on enabling autonomy skills for GA-ASI’s existing and future line of aircraft. Meanwhile, startup Saluqi is dedicated to developing high-density motors with integrated electronics, designed to work in unmanned aircraft systems. It will contribute to GA-ASI’s effort of ensuring its product line meets the “strict environmental demands of aerospace applications.”
“Our ultra-compact and high-performance motors are engineered to meet the demanding requirements of aerospace applications. This collaboration enables us to further validate our technology and develop new solutions for the defense and aerospace industries,” said Saluqi CEO Matthijs de Haan.
Brad Lunn, managing director for GA-ASI, shared that the company is scheduled to announce additional businesses from the Blue Magic Netherlands event to receive funding from the company. The Blue Magic Netherlands dual-use innovation and funding conference was co-hosted with the Dutch Ministry of Defence and Ministry of Economic Affairs.
