Cyber Defense Specialization

The training center will be established at the Cyber Defence Academy of the Cyber Defence Command in the Rennes region of France. The facility will provide courses for various cyber defense specializations. The goal is to increase the French armed forces’ pool of cybersecurity experts and boost their tools and techniques for national, joint or multinational operations.

According to Airbus, the center will engage with startups, small firms and medium-sized enterprises to develop training platforms based on various technologies, such as artificial intelligence.

Network and Information Security

Programs will include training exercises against cyberattacks using malware, data theft and social media disinformation campaigns. The center’s training platforms will replicate the environment of the French military’s networks and information infrastructure, such as C4ISR and weapons systems.

Airbus also led a consortium that developed the second stage of France’s IP Network of the Naval Force to enhance cybersecurity and upgrade hardware/software platforms to exchange data between French ships and onshore command centers.
