Leonardo Continues Cyber Business Expansion With Axiomatics Purchase

Leonardo Axiomatics acquisition

Italy’s Leonardo has taken over Sweden’s Axiomatics, expanding its presence in the cybersecurity segment and zero trust offering while contributing to establishing European digital autonomy.

The deal is still subject to customary practices, including regulatory approval from Swedish authorities.

Stockholm-based Axiomatics, formed in 2006, is the sole European player offering zero-trust architecture for authorization management and data security for organizations in the region. Its solutions provide fine-grained and dynamic control over access to protected systems, making them ideal for use in government and military agencies.

The deal is Leonardo’s third partnership and acquisition in recent months as part of an effort to strengthen its cyber leadership. The Italian multinational recently announced that it is taking a stake in the Finnish company SSH Communications Security Corp. Other agreements include a partnership with Danish firm Arbit and the purchase of shares in Swedish startup CanaryBit.

Commenting on the SSH Communications deal, Roberto Cingolani, CEO and general manager at Leonardo, emphasized how the deal shows the company’s commitment to cybersecurity. “With this acquisition, Leonardo increases its portfolio in an international perspective,” he said.
