AIRO Group Holdings and Nord-Drone, through their affiliates AIRO Drone and Nord Drone Group, finalized an agreement on Nov. 14 to form AIRO Nord-Drone to deliver interoperable, mission-ready systems for tactical reconnaissance, loitering munitions and advanced combat operations.
What Capabilities Will AIRO & Nord-Drone Bring Together?
The transatlantic defense joint venture will merge AIRO’s advanced aerospace manufacturing and procurement capabilities with NDG’s proven platforms and European production experience, AIRO said Friday. It remains subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approvals.
How Will the Joint Venture Deliver Battlefield-Tested Drones?
The JV aims to fast-track the delivery of combat-tested unmanned aerial systems to the U.S., North Atlantic Treaty Organization partners and Ukrainian defense forces. Nord-Drone manufactures roughly 4,000 drones monthly, including first-person view, or FPV, strike platforms, loitering munitions and multi-role bombers. Its NORD-10 and NORD-15 systems offer ranges of up to 15 kilometers and payloads of up to 4.5 kilograms, integrating Global Positioning System, Global Navigation Satellite System, or GLONASS, and BeiDou navigation with proprietary control software.
Remarks From AIRO Executive Chairman
“This joint venture represents a significant milestone in delivering proven, battlefield-tested technology to our allies when it matters most. Together with Nord Drone Group, we are creating a transatlantic defense platform capable of scaling rapidly to meet urgent operational requirements,” said Chirinjeev Kathuria, executive chairman of AIRO.
