Hanwha Aerospace finalized a $4 billion contract with the Polish Armament Agency on Dec. 29, 2025, to supply Chunmoo CGR-080 guided missiles for Poland’s Homar-K rocket launcher system.
Hanwha said production of the guided missiles will take place at a dedicated facility operated by Hanwha WB Advanced System, a joint venture that Hanwha Aerospace and Poland’s WB Electronics established in April 2025, in Poland. Deliveries of the armaments will begin in 2030.
The agreement, signed at the Polish Army Museum in Warsaw, marks the third executive contract under Poland’s Homar-K framework.
“Hanwha will continue to cooperate with the Polish defense industry to provide security and economic value to Poland,” Jae-il Son, president and CEO of Hanwha Aerospace, stated.
In 2023, Poland purchased over 150 K9 self-propelled howitzers from Hanwha under a $2.6 billion contract. Parts of the howitzers and missiles will be manufactured locally as part of the agreement.
What Is the Chunmoo Missile System?
The CGR-080 is a 239-millimeter-caliber precision-guided missile with an 80-kilometer range and a 15-meter circular error probability. The missiles are equipped with a GPS/INS system. The missile forms the core ammunition for Poland’s Homar-K system, the Polish variant of Hanwha’s Chunmoo multiple rocket launcher system.
How Has Hanwha Expanded Its European Partnerships?
Hanwha also secured a $292.2 million contract from Estonia in December 2025 for Chunmoo systems, including launchers and multiple missile types, with deliveries starting in 2027. The company also signed a memorandum of understanding with Norway’s Akkodis Nordics in October 2025 to co-develop a Chunmoo simulator tailored to the specific needs of the Norwegian Armed Forces.
