- Indra and BAE Systems’ OneArc are partnering to advance next-generation military simulation and training technologies
- The collaboration will integrate OneArc’s virtual combat and image-generation tools into Indra’s training software
- The partnership aims to enhance realism, interoperability and effectiveness in land vehicle training programs
Indra Group and BAE Systems’ OneArc have partnered to accelerate the development of advanced simulation and virtual training technologies for the Spanish Army’s land vehicle programs. Indra said Friday that Rafael Junco, director of Indra Simulation, and OneArc President Rahul Thakkar signed a memorandum of agreement at Eurosatory on Tuesday.
What Does the Agreement Cover?
The MOA aims to enhance realism, efficiency and interoperability in next-generation training systems. It outlines the integration of OneArc’s simulation software into Indra’s training simulators. This includes the VBS4 virtual combat scenario technology, a software that enables users to develop and execute highly realistic virtual combat scenarios, and Blue IG image generator, a tool that produces realistic visual content.
Rahul Thakkar, president of OneArc, said the companies intend to develop interoperable simulation environments tailored to the changing needs of the Spanish Armed Forces.
How Will the Collaboration Impact the Spanish Army?
According to the companies, the agreement is expected to accelerate the digital transformation of land-domain training systems through the use of immersive technologies, synthetic environments and scalable simulation architectures. The partnership could also expand into additional simulation programs, technical cooperation initiatives, specialized training efforts and joint business development activities.
The technologies covered by the agreement have already been adopted by other military organizations. In March, the Danish Army selected OneArc’s suite of simulation products, including VBS4 and Blue IG, as part of a seven-year effort to modernize its virtual training environment.
