Accenture is set to acquire SIPAL’s Integrated Product Support unit in Italy as it bids to enhance its engineering services for Italian and European aerospace and defense customers.
The IPS purchase reaffirms the company’s commitment to “investing in Italian excellence,” said Teodoro Lio, CEO of Accenture Italy and market unit lead for Italy, Central Europe and Greece. “SIPAL’s highly specialized defense engineering capabilities, combined with our deep product engineering, digital, data and AI expertise, will create an exceptional capability to drive reinvention across these industries,” he added.
Industrial Engineering Services
SIPAL’s Italian IPS division delivers engineering services to support the full operational integrity of complex systems and products, including land vehicles, aircraft and sea vessels. IPS has major aerospace and defense agencies as customers and supports several Italian and European defense initiatives. It offers product and industrial engineering services, manufacturing support and training.
Based in Turin with offices across Italy, IPS will bring about 250 engineering professionals to Accenture upon the acquisition’s completion, which is subject to customary closing conditions. The transaction’s financial details were not disclosed.
Accenture has completed six acquisitions in Italy since 2023, including Italian network services company Fibermind and Intellera Consulting. In April, the company entered into a joint venture with Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri to develop advanced digital capabilities in the cruise, naval defense, and port infrastructure sectors.
