NATO Taps Skydio for Nano Drone Agreement

Skydio NATO NSPA drone contract win

Skydio and Belgian partner COBBS BELUX have entered into a new framework agreement with the NATO Support and Procurement Agency to supply the military alliance’s allies and partners with nano-class uncrewed aerial systems.

Skydio said it will provide the procurement and life cycle support of intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance-capable drones under 2.5 kilograms, enhancing tactical, defense and security operations across NATO member states. It will deliver its flagship X10D drone while COBBS BELUX will manage sales, distribution, training and support services across Europe, all under Skydio’s supervision.

The Skydio X10D features advanced onboard artificial intelligence for obstacle avoidance and employs vision-based navigation and dynamic communication channel switching. According to the company, the next-generation drone has high-performance electro-optical infrared cameras and a lightweight, modular design, making it suitable for missions such as reconnaissance, overwatch and mapping.

The deal is the latest in Skydio’s contract wins involving the X10D. Early in 2025, the company secured a Spanish order of X10D drones for force protection, target acquisition and other military applications. Deliveries will be made in partnership with Madrid-based Paukner Group.
