Leidos to Manage Cloud, IT Services for Geoscience Australia

Paul Chase on Leidos Australia contract win

Leidos Australia has secured a contract to manage the information and communication technology services of Geoscience Australia, the government agency responsible for national Earth science data.

Leidos said Wednesday that under the agreement, it will oversee everything from cloud platforms and on-premise infrastructure to network systems, cybersecurity, application support and help-desk services. The company’s role is to ensure the continuity of critical systems while advancing Geoscience Australia’s digital transformation.

Leidos Australia Chief Executive Paul Chase said the contract aligns with the company’s 25-year legacy of service to Australian government agencies. “By delivering stable, secure and efficient operations, we’ll support Geoscience Australia’s strategic objectives and enhance Geoscience Australia’s ability to deliver impactful Earth sciences for Australia’s future,” he said.

The contract builds on Leidos’ growing footprint in geospatial and scientific data support services. Earlier this year, the company started supporting the United Kingdom’s National Centre for Geospatial Intelligence through a seven-year contract with the Ministry of Defence. Under that deal, Leidos will deliver the meteorological and oceanographic data system called THOR and modernize infrastructure, storage and user access.
