Swedish aerospace and defense company Saab has signed new agreements with Polish defense companies Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa and WB Group, expanding cooperation between Swedish and Polish defense industries on several technology initiatives.
The agreements build on earlier collaboration arrangements established in September 2025 and outline potential areas of joint work involving submarine support capabilities and autonomous defense systems, Saab said Thursday.
What Does Saab’s Agreement With PGZ Cover?
Saab’s partnership with PGZ focuses on potential collaboration under Poland’s Orka submarine program. The companies plan to explore cooperation related to in-country maintenance, repair and overhaul capabilities, strengthening Poland’s domestic support infrastructure for naval platforms.
PGZ is Poland’s state-owned defense holding company and plays a central role in the country’s military modernization efforts.
How Will Saab Work With WB Group?

The partnership is expected to explore collaboration on autonomous naval systems and unmanned aerial systems, including programs tied to Gladius and the Future Task Force concept.
Why Are the Partnerships Significant?
“Signing these new agreements with both PGZ Group and WB Group marks important new milestones in strengthening collaboration between the Polish and Swedish defence industries,” said Micael Johansson, president and CEO of Saab.
“By sharing expertise and scaling up innovation together, we can ensure the development of advanced solutions and capabilities that will contribute to security and stability in Europe and the Baltic Sea region,” he added.
