Red Hat and Core42 have partnered to deliver sovereign cloud and artificial intelligence infrastructure tailored for government, defense and regulated industries in the United Arab Emirates.

Red Hat said Monday the collaboration combines its open hybrid cloud technologies with Core42’s sovereign cloud infrastructure to help organizations deploy AI workloads while maintaining jurisdictional control, regulatory compliance and operational resilience.

What Will the Partnership Deliver?

Core42 will use Red Hat OpenShift and Red Hat AI to support sovereign private cloud environments for sensitive and classified workloads, while less-sensitive workloads can run through Core42’s sovereign public cloud offerings.

The partnership centers on four areas:

  • Optimizing GPU resources for AI workloads
  • Expanding workload automation and orchestration
  • Standardizing AI deployment and onboarding processes
  • Strengthening AI governance and operational oversight

“Red Hat’s work on open hybrid cloud technologies has provided a genuinely robust foundation for the full spectrum of sovereign cloud deployments, from fully air-gapped environments through to partially restricted and connected models,” said Raghu Chakravarthi, executive vice president for engineering and general manager for the Americas at Core42.

The company intends to expand the sovereign AI offering beyond the UAE to support other regions pursuing AI-ready infrastructure aligned with local regulatory and jurisdictional requirements.

How Does the Deal Fit Into Broader Sovereign AI Efforts?

The announcement reflects growing demand among governments and defense organizations for sovereign AI infrastructure that can support national security, regulatory and data residency requirements.

Red Hat recently expanded its sovereign and defense-focused cloud efforts. In February, the company signed an enterprise agreement with the U.K. Ministry of Defence to provide hybrid cloud and AI technologies, including Red Hat OpenShift, Red Hat AI and automation tools designed to support interoperability, modernization efforts and mission systems.

According to Red Hat, those technologies help government organizations deploy applications across on-premises, cloud and hybrid environments while supporting AI model delivery and operational automation.
