Capgemini has entered a multi-year agreement with BAE Systems to modernize and integrate the defense company’s global technology operations, supporting its digital transformation initiatives.

Capgemini said Thursday it will use a unified operating model designed to improve agility, employee productivity and large-scale technology deployment.

The partnership comes as the defense contractor seeks to move away from fragmented, siloed service delivery toward a more coordinated global framework.

“We’re taking a significant step in our transformation of the digital ecosystem to deliver a secure, insight-led, digitally enabled working environment to power operational excellence across BAE Systems,” said Mary Haigh, deputy chief information officer at BAE Systems.

How Will Capgemini Support BAE Systems’ Technology Transformation?

Capgemini said the operating model will consolidate multiple technology service providers into a single integrated framework spanning BAE Systems’ global operations.

The company will support technology deployment, operational coordination and change management efforts intended to accelerate innovation, improve user experience and strengthen scalability throughout the defense company’s international programs.

Rob Walker, managing director of Capgemini UK, said the transformation reflects a broader shift toward more integrated, outcome-focused technology delivery models in the defense sector.

How Does the Deal Align With Capgemini’s Sovereign Cloud, AI Strategy?

The BAE Systems agreement comes as Capgemini continues to expand its sovereign cloud and artificial intelligence capabilities across regulated industries, including the defense and government sectors.

Earlier this year, Capgemini expanded partnerships with Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud, focused on sovereign-ready cloud infrastructure, AI modernization and secure digital operations.

In February, Capgemini announced sovereign-ready cloud and AI capabilities on the AWS European Sovereign Cloud platform to support organizations operating under strict European data sovereignty and compliance requirements.

Its partnership with Google Cloud enables organizations to deploy secure sovereign cloud environments using technologies such as Vertex AI and Gemini Enterprise while supporting highly regulated workloads and classified operations.
