  • Accenture’s AI initiative with DG INTPA has grown to more than 2,000 active users since its March 2026 launch
  • Staff have logged over 400,000 AI queries, reflecting broad adoption across daily operations
  • The collaboration began in September 2025 to help modernize DG INTPA’s operations with AI

Accenture and the European Commission’s Directorate-General for International Partnerships, or DG INTPA, have collaborated to develop and scale an artificial intelligence assistant to support thousands of staff across its headquarters and delegations worldwide.

The company said Wednesday it began working with DG INTPA to modernize its operations using AI in September 2025. Since the platform’s launch in March 2026, more than 2,000 recurring users have submitted over 400,000 queries covering various topics.

The deployment expands Accenture’s public-sector AI work. Earlier this year, the company partnered with OpenAI to help accelerate secure AI adoption across U.S. federal agencies and teamed with HUMAIN to advance AI capabilities in government entities and enterprises in Saudi Arabia.

How Does the AI Assistant Support DG INTPA?

According to Accenture, the AI assistant is customized for the DG INTPA, incorporating its terminology, operational processes, policy priorities and internal workflows.

The platform integrates large language models with secure connections to internal documents, organizational knowledge and internet connectivity to provide tailored assistance for personnel working in over 100 countries. By automating routine tasks, it enables staff to spend more time on policy analysis, strategic decision-making and other work requiring human judgment.

What Is Next for the Program?

The program, developed with support from Accenture’s Brussels AI Lab, will incorporate agentic AI to automate defined workflows, extending its role from providing information to carrying out structured tasks. DG INTPA also plans to implement a structured user feedback process and expand the assistant into additional business processes while continuing to train staff on the responsible use of AI.
