Hensoldt has expanded the leadership team of defense electronics and logistics of its subsidiary ESG with the appointments of Alan Carson and Thomas Freiheit as managing directors. Carson and Freiheit will join Dietmar Thelen in leading ESG starting in May, in addition to their current roles within Hensoldt’s multi-domain solutions division. Carson serves as the business coordination head while Freiheit leads finance and controlling.
According to Hensoldt, the two executives will use their expertise in operational excellence and business transformation to enhance the company’s delivery of software-defined capabilities to German and allied forces.
“With their outstanding expertise and extensive experience, they will provide excellent support for the successful further development of the division, as an important engine for implementing the groupwide ‘North Star’ strategy,” said Hensoldt CEO Oliver Dörre. “I am very much looking forward to the now-even-closer cooperation and wish the entire management team, with Dietmar Thelen at its head, continued success in the challenging tasks ahead,” Dörre continued.
Hensoldt acquired ESG in April 2024. With around 1,400 employees in Germany, the Netherlands and the United States, ESG has played a key role in programs such as the Future Combat Air System and the F-35.
