CACI Federal Books $123M Canadian C-UAS Supply Contracts

Stephen Fuhr on CACI Canada systems integration contract win

CACI Federal will mount and integrate counter-uncrewed aircraft systems into the Canadian Armed Forces’ light tactical vehicles under two contract awards worth $123 million. According to the Canadian Department of National Defence, the award is part of the second phase of the C-UAS operational requirements for CAF’s Operation REASSURANCE deployment to support NATO in Central and Eastern Europe.

The contract also calls for CACI Federal to provide in-service support for up to 10 years. The work requires the company to initiate business activities in Canada, creating job opportunities and supply chain opportunities equivalent to the contract’s value. DND said the CACI contract could contribute $24 million annually to Canada’s gross domestic product and support 270 local jobs.

“The government of Canada is focused on equipping the Canadian Armed Forces with modern, reliable capabilities for the protection and effectiveness of our troops,” said Stephen Fuhr, secretary of state for defense procurement. “This significant investment reaffirms our focus, while supporting Canada’s largest international military operation and enhancing the Armed Forces’ ability to counter evolving threats.”

The initial delivery of CACI’s fully mounted and integrated C-UAS is expected in fall 2026 and full operational capability in early 2028. Geared to improve protection of CAF elements, the C-UAS provides integrated sensors and effectors to detect, track and deter smaller, hostile drones.

The contracts for the C-UAS integration’s first phase were awarded in January 2024, covering the acquisition and in-service requirements of dismounted and fixed-site systems.

CAF’s Operation REASSURANCE includes deployment in the NATO Multinational Brigade-Latvia, where Canada is the lead nation. In July 2024, CAF awarded GM Defense Canada a $25.96 million contract for the supply of 90 LTVs for the NATO battle group in Latvia.
