Martin Polak, managing director of Planet Labs Germany, noted that the contract highlights the company’s unique value in delivering space-based information and tools to ensure long-term security for Germany and the surrounding region.
The deal follows a NATO contract secured in June, which allows Planet to provide its PlanetScope Broad Area Monitoring technology. This technology gives the alliance advanced daily monitoring and early warning capabilities.
Will Marshall, CEO and co-founder of Planet Labs, expressed pride in supporting Germany’s mission to promote peace and stability in the region.
“With the changing geopolitical landscape, the demand for sovereign access to geospatial intelligence is more urgent than ever before, and Planet’s satellite services model is uniquely designed to enable large area security monitoring,” he said.
Marshall added that Planet’s experience is unparalleled, allowing clients to monitor with confidence using the company’s fleet of over 600 Earth imaging satellites and their agile aerospace approach.
