Maxar Secures $205M Contracts in Middle East, Africa for Sovereign GEOINT

Maxar Intelligence has signed three new multiyear contracts worth $204.7 million to enhance the independent defense and intelligence capabilities of undisclosed clients from the Middle East and Africa.

According to Maxar, the contracts are part of its Direct Access Program, which provides customers access to its satellite constellation and geospatial intelligence products. These offerings include high-resolution imagery, 3D terrain data and advanced analytics for persistent monitoring. This access will also assist customers in developing more sophisticated command, control, communications, computers, cyber, intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance systems for multi-domain operations and mission coordination.

“The MEA region has long been on the forefront of investing in technological innovation, and our expanded partnerships reflect the strategic importance of sovereign space-based capabilities,” said Anders Linder, general manager for international government at Maxar.

“These deals underscore Maxar’s deep commitment to supporting our international customers’ needs to gain real-time decision advantage for the most demanding missions.”

Additionally, the contracts grant access to artificial intelligence-powered tools that can identify pattern changes and monitor multiple locations simultaneously. Maxar’s Direct Access Program also allows partners to integrate their ground systems with its satellite network, ensuring exclusive access and rapid delivery speeds.

In December 2024, two governments from the Asia Pacific signed contracts with Maxar valued at $35 million to subscribe to the Direct Access Program, becoming the first customers to receive imagery from the WorldView Legion satellite constellation. Earlier this year, the Dutch Ministry of Defence awarded Maxar a $14 million contract to provide mapping and intelligence support through its Maxar Geospatial Platform Pro subscription.
