AirBoss Defense Group, the defense division of AirBoss Manufactured Products, has secured an order from the Canadian Department of National Defense for its Low Burden Masks, or LBM.

What Are the Details of the New Canadian DND Order?

AirBoss of America said Monday the order, in addition to masks, includes filters and related accessories, with a potential value of $8.1 million. The order is part of the JGSR contract, an in-service support agreement awarded to ADG in 2018. AirBoss is scheduled to begin deliveries in the first quarter of 2026 and complete them by the first quarter of 2027.

What Are Low Burden Masks?

The LBM is a lightweight military respirator engineered for balanced weight distribution and low breathing resistance. It has been supplied to several partner nations since 2017. The LBM was first widely adopted in 2018, following the awarding of the JGSR contract with the Canadian DND. It replaced the legacy C4 gas mask and C7A canisters previously used by the Canadian Forces.

AirBoss CEO on the LBM & Its Ongoing Adoption by Canadian Forces

“This order, which represents the continued adoption and use of the LBM by the Canadian DND, reinforces the positive momentum experienced by our defense business over the past year and a half,” said Chris Bitsakakis, president and co-CEO of AirBoss. “The LBM was developed to be the world’s most advanced gas mask and has seen strong adoption since its introduction, reflecting our ongoing commitment to delivering protective and survivability solutions that help ensure the safety of our warfighters operating in challenging environments and conditions.”
