Embraer Sets Up Indian Subsidiary to Enhance Aerospace Presence

Embraer has established a wholly owned subsidiary in India, with its corporate office in AeroCity, New Delhi. The Brazilian aerospace firm said the move strengthens its presence across defense, commercial and business aviation, services and support, and the emerging urban air mobility sector.

The new subsidiary will build specialized teams in procurement, supply chain, engineering and corporate functions. Embraer President and CEO Francisco Gomes Neto said the expansion is a testament to the company’s “unwavering commitment” to its key markets.

“We are excited to deepen our collaboration with the Indian aerospace and defense industry, leveraging our expertise and technology to contribute to the nation’s growth and Make in India efforts,” he added.

Embraer supports nearly 50 aircraft and 11 aircraft types in India across multiple sectors, all backed by its in-country support network. Its expansion follows a February 2024 memorandum of understanding between Embraer Defense & Security and Mahindra Defence Systems to explore a joint bid for the Indian Air Force’s Medium Transport Aircraft program with the C-390 Millennium aircraft.

The new office in India builds on Embraer’s recent business milestones. In April, Sweden ordered four C-390 Millennium aircraft and joined a pooled production program alongside the Netherlands and Austria. The Dutch government also confirmed a $1.8 billion deal for five aircraft. Earlier, Uruguay ordered five additional A-29 Super Tucano aircraft to expand its fleet, following an initial delivery under a contract that included options for more units.
