Mercury Signs Production Agreements With European Defense Contractor

Mercury Systems has signed two new production contracts with a major European defense company to supply processing hardware for radar and electronic warfare systems, the company announced Wednesday.

The first deal is a five-year extension to deliver sensor processing subsystems built on Mercury’s HDS6605 6U OpenVPX boards. These systems will be used by radars on land, in the air and at sea. The second agreement covers monolithic microwave integrated circuits for electronic warfare sensors.

Paul Tanner, vice president and general manager of Mercury Systems International, described the Andover, Massachusetts-based defense tech company’s longtime customer and partner as a leading provider of proven defense systems for military operations in Europe and elsewhere.

“We are strengthening our commitment to the European defense sector by making investments to reduce development and production timelines for our unique processing products and solutions,” he added.

The two agreements follow other recent contract wins for Mercury Systems. Earlier this month, it secured two production awards totaling $36.9 million for ground-based radar programs that use its Common Processing Architecture. The company was also recently selected by the U.S. Department of Defense for its Industrial Base Analysis and Sustainment Program to develop a next-generation radio frequency signal conditioning multi-chip package.
