RTX’s Collins Aerospace will provide its Electronic Warfare Planning and Battle Management solution to NATO under a contract awarded by the NATO Communications and Information Agency. The system is designed to strengthen the alliance’s ability to plan, direct, coordinate and synchronize electronic warfare operations.

“We’re equipping commanders with a critical tool to visualize electronic warfare threats and automate the use of jammers and sensors,” said Ryan Bunge, vice president and general manager for command, control, communications, computers, intelligence and autonomy at Collins Aerospace. “This system will enhance the effectiveness, interoperability, scalability and resilience of joint operations.”

EWPBM integrates data from multiple sources to generate an electromagnetic operating picture and an electronic order of battle, giving commanders greater situational awareness to manage tactics and lead multidomain operations. NATO and Collins Aerospace will collaborate to test, validate and integrate the software into alliance operations.

Collins has been securing contracts to support regional efforts to upgrade defense capabilities. In February, it received a U.S. contract to equip France’s E-2D Advanced Hawkeye aircraft fleet with a weapons system training platform. The company is also expanding landing gear manufacturing capacity in Poland and recently opened new aircraft electrification facilities in the U.K. and France.
