Rivada Space Networks has announced new partnerships across the Asia Pacific region, gaining market access for its low Earth orbit satellite communications network called The Outernet.

The new partners are iO3 in Singapore, Acutec Systems in Australia, Tricom in India, Rikei Corporation in Japan, Transcontinental Enterprise in Taiwan and One Commerce in the Philippines. The announcement was made during the AsiaTechX 2025 event in Singapore.

According to Rivada, iO3, Acutec and Tricom will use the network to enhance digital operations in maritime environments, including remote and high-risk zones.

In Japan, Rikei plans to enhance performance and security for telecom and enterprise clients through Rivada’s global low-latency coverage. Taiwan’s Transcontinental Enterprise will address government demands for secure communications, while One Commerce in the Philippines will expand connectivity to underserved regions.

Billions Infused in Outernet Business

Rivada has now secured over $16 billion in global business for its satellite network. Donald Chew, Rivada’s vice president of sales for Asia Pacific, said interest in the region is strongest from the government, maritime and energy sectors.

“The Outernet’s ability to meet the requirements of Asia’s connectivity providers in terms of security, latency, capacity and coverage is a game-changer for the region,” Chew added.

“Our completely new type of LEO constellation will provide the whole of Asia with a transformative next-generation infrastructure for secure, resilient communications and network expansion.”

Rivada said The Outernet will deliver gigabit-speed and secure connectivity anywhere in the world without relying on the public internet. Using intersatellite laser links and onboard processing, the 600-satellite network will form a space-based optical mesh that keeps data in orbit from origin to destination.

The Munich-based firm plans to launch its first demonstration mission in 2026, with commercial connectivity services expected to follow in 2027.
